Hiring: Software Quality Engineer – Automation

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Quality Engineer with a strong foundation in QA and hands-on exposure to automation testing. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with Playwright, API testing, scripting, and modern application environments, with a strong mindset toward quality,ownership, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for web and API applications.
Develop and maintain reliable and scalable test automation scripts/frameworks.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
Identify, report, track, and validate defects throughout the defect lifecycle.
Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, and Business teams throughout the SDLC.
Integrate and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and proactively improve test coverage and quality.
Contribute to QA best practices and automation maturity.

Required Skills

2 - 4 years of experience in Software Testing / QA.
Strong understanding of QA fundamentals, SDLC, STLC, test case design, and defect lifecycle.
Hands-on or basic experience with Playwright automation.
Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
API testing experience with Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools.
Basic scripting/programming knowledge in JavaScript, Java, or Python.
Basic knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, OpenStack, or similar.
Good understanding of Git and Agile methodologies.

Good to Have

Exposure to AI/ML concepts or AI-based testing.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
Basic knowledge of performance testing using tools such as JMeter or k6.
Basic understanding of security testing.
BDD experience with Cucumber/Gherkin.
Basic SQL/database testing knowledge.
Experience working in the ERP domain, with Frappe exposure being an advantage.
